Cross Country Skiing

We decided to try cross county sking, and except for a few falls and finding out how out of shape we are, it was a great success. We went to Kouchibouguac National Park. The top photo shows the beautiful setting - quiet and peaceful. Just a few minutes after I took this picture, a mother and sibling moose walked across the trail. The second photo is where you change into your cross county gear. It also has a washroom and equipment rental area. The last trip we both got to use brand new equipment. It is quite expensive to rent - broke the bank - $5 a day. This is a beautiful building - it blends right into the surroundings. The bottom picture - Miss ski bunny 2006 standing beside a trail map. The trails are in great shape - well groomed. And very level. The huts have wood burning stoves and washrooms - much needed as we get older.
